Picnic and Pop 2022

2022 was the year it didn’t rain all summer it seemed! It was also the year that we felt Picnic and Pop established itself as the biggest and most important community event in the area. Saturday was a sellout with Sunday coming close.

Acts included tributes to Arctic Monkeys, Pink, Elton John, Abba, Taylor Swift, Adele, Stereophonics, Take That, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and Queen alongside other incredible performances across two stages.

Picnic and Pop 22 was sponsored by Aldershot carpet service, Ash house vets, Booker wholesale, DOH Architecture, Knightscapes, Hogsback Builders, Melody Care, Oasis Electrical, Shaviram and So Web Designs.

Picnic and Pop 2021

Having missed out in 2020 due to COVID-19, Picnic and Pop returned but this time over 2 days rather than one. Showers on both days didn’t dampen spirits as thousands flocked to see the likes of ‘Coldplace’, 21st Century Abba, The Black Eyed Teaz and a host of other top tribute acts and local bands. The quality of the acts did not disappoint with something for everyone throughout the weekend. Main stage highlight on Saturday had to be the Black Eyed Teaz who weathered a downpour in the middle of their set before finishing off with anthems ‘Where is the love’ and ‘I gotta feeling’. Then the crowd were treated to a superb performance from Coldplay tribute, Coldplace who whipped the crowd up into a frenzy with their up-tempo hour set. Sunday was a more sedate affair after the sell-out Saturday, but the acts were of no less quality with 21st Century Abba and a tribute to Bruno Mars closing the festival.

Throughout the weekend families were treated to a host of other entertainment including the ‘extreme BMX and mountain bike show’, a circus skills training area and a fun fair all complimented by some tasty street food that was on offer.

Festival organiser Oliver Cluskey summarised ‘What a fantastic weekend we had. It was so good to see the community coming together again. Families and friends, smiling faces everywhere. For a moment life almost felt normal again.

Picnic and Pop 21 was sponsored by Aldershot carpet service, Ash house vets, Barratt Homes, Booker wholesale, DOH Architecture, Knightscapes, Hogsback Builders and Tootsies Day nursery.

Picnic and Pop 2019

A sellout crowd of 5000 descended on aldershot a manor park for the second picnic and pop family festival. The early morning rain soon made way for near perfect conditions for such an event where the impressive main stage featured some of the uk’s top tribute bands along side some local bands and choirs.

Highlights included the fantastic ‘Freddie and queen’ experience who had the crowd singing along to all the queen smash hits, ‘Hariana’ grande and Maybe Gaga who finished her set with a duet alongside competition winner john brown singing ‘shallow’ which actually brought people to tears!.

Elsewhere there was plenty to do with a huge circus training area, a village of stalls, funfair and an acoustic stage which was new to this years event.

Picnic and Pop 2018

What a fantastic day we had with a totally amazing crowd of over 4000. Having battled 30mph winds in the morning and losing 5 gazebos in the process, the team pulled together and somehow got the gates open at 12pm (sorry for any queuing).

We were all totally overwhelmed by how the day turned out, what an unbelievable atmosphere we had on Manor Park, it really was something special for Aldershot.

We had some superb performances on the main stage from some top local acts as well as top Tribute bands with the highlight for the younger members of the Audience being Little Mix Tribute LMX.

We were absolutely delighted to have raised £2775 for our nominated Charity The Source, a local charity that look after vulnerable children and young adults.

Thank you to all who came and made it such a special day.
